The installation process has a high level of difficulty and may take 3 hours or more, requiring a lot of patience. Go slow, check every connection, and keep your screws organized. Watch a YouTube video on how to do it, pausing and replaying often.
When reassembling the Joy-Cons, be mindful of how tightly you tighten the screws, as this will affect how the buttons press. When removing the outer screws, make sure to use a Tri-wing screwdriver, and be careful not to strip the 4 outer triangle screws or overtighten any screws.
There are multiple delicate ribbon cables that need to be removed and reattached. Use tweezers instead of your fingers to handle the small pieces that need to be transferred to the new case. Be cautious when opening the Joy-Cons, as the ZR and ZL buttons are spring-loaded.
The package includes 1x A/B/X/Y buttons, 1x D-pad, 1x direction buttons, 1x +/-/home/shoot buttons, 1x L button, 1x R button, 1x ZL button, 1x ZR button, 2x SL buttons, 2x SR buttons, 1x screwdriver handle, 1x cross screwdriver, 1x Tri-wing screwdriver, 40x screws, and 8x springs. The console, Joy-Con, housing shell, and thumbsticks are not included.
